Sarayburnu Mosque

I would now like to introduce you to Sarayburnu Mosque, one of Bulancak’s landmark structures. Situated along the Black Sea Coastal Road, the mosque’s foundation was laid in 1987, and its construction spanned approximately 29 years. The mosque holds special significance as it was built through the collective efforts and contributions of the local community. The architecture of Sarayburnu Mosque draws inspiration primarily from Ottoman and Seljuk styles. Its design was modeled after the Şehzadebaşı Mosque in Istanbul, while features such as yellow natural stone, handcrafted ornamentation, *kündekâri* woodwork, and stained-glass windows lend the structure a rich aesthetic. At the eastern entrance, details inspired by the monumental portal of the Divriği Great Mosque particularly stand out. The mosque features a main dome approximately 38 meters high and a minaret reaching a height of 50 meters. Catching the eye of travelers on the coastal road with its expansive and majestic structure, the mosque today welcomes visitors as one of Bulancak’s significant religious and architectural landmarks.
