I would now like to introduce the Hızırbey Mosque, located in the Hızırbey Neighborhood—which bears the same name—in the Ortahisar district of Trabzon. The mosque is named after Hızır Bey, who served as the governor of Trabzon. According to its inscription, the structure was built between 1798 and 1799 and has undergone various repairs in subsequent periods.
Notable for its stonework, the mosque features a rectangular plan and reflects the characteristics of traditional Ottoman architecture through its central dome and stone minaret with a single balcony. Inside, the floral ornamentation around the *mihrab* (prayer niche) and the hand-painted decorations on the dome are particularly striking. With its historical character and architectural features, the Hızırbey Mosque stands as a significant destination for cultural and religious tourism in Trabzon.
