Welcome to Kurşunlu Mosque, located in the historical center of Kayseri. Designed in the 16th century by Mimar Sinan, one of the greatest architects of the Ottoman Empire, this structure is one of the important Ottoman works that have survived to the present day in Kayseri. Originally named Hacı Ahmet Paşa Mosque, it is popularly known as the "Kurşunlu Mosque" (Lead Mosque) due to its dome being covered with lead.
Built of cut stone, the mosque stands out with its balanced architecture, simple yet elegant decorations, central dome, and characteristic features of classical Ottoman architecture. Its status as one of the works left by Mimar Sinan in his birthplace adds further value to the mosque.
Still open for worship today, Kurşunlu Mosque has witnessed centuries of Kayseri's urban life. Welcoming visitors with its historical atmosphere and architectural elegance, this structure is one of the important cultural heritages that Kayseri has carried from the Ottoman period to the present day.
